As Tammy sat in her bedroom staring at the window, she
watched the figure just outside, watching her.
The storm had taken over the world, and every time
lightening flashed, she saw it. At first there was only one, but
as the storm intensified, they were several. With each flash
of light, their bloody teeth illuminated, in the chill of the
storm.
When she closed her eyes, she realized they had
followed her to her new house. Tammy had thought if she
moved away, far from where she had lived, she could leave
the past behind, buried where it belonged. Obviously, it
hadn’t worked.
As she opened her eyes, she noticed just outside the
window there were more figures, waiting, looking at her with
their cold, dead eyes, as if they expected her to help them.
She couldn’t help them, and never could. Now she wondered
why they didn’t understand that. She wanted them to go away.
She sat quietly, watching them. She waited to see what they
were going to do, but she already knew. They had come for
her, as they had been doing for the past ten years.
It was like the worse nightmare, and happened to her
more times, then she could recall, sitting in the darkness, all
alone, during a storm, watching their teeth bleed, as they sat
waiting, lurking just outside.
Although she knew she had to figure it out, or she
would continue to live with the guilt of what happened so
long ago.
She remembered that’s when she turned a blind eye to
what was going on. Back then she simply ignored it, and she
also ignored her crazy ex-husband, who had done these
hideous things to all these people, but Tammy had lived in
denial.
Now, it was getting worse, and the number of them
continued to grow every single year, until she lost track.
It was funny how cruel life could be, and Tammy didn’t
understand what they wanted from her.
She stood, walked to the window, and watched them
sneer at her, and then she knew she had to figure out how to
get rid of the: FORGOTTEN SOULS, before she became one of
them.
