Kimmy and Bobby walked around the old,
boarded up building looking for a way in. When
Kimmy stopped in the back of the building she
watched as a door creaked open.
“I guess that’s mean to come in,” she whispered.
“Yeah, I guess.”
Kimmy felt Bobby grab her hand and the two of
them slipped inside the dusty, dark building. Once
inside they heard the door slam, and they both
swung around.
“Are we locked in here, Bobby?”
“I don’t know. With every thing that is happening
to us tonight, it wouldn’t surprise me, but while we’
re here let’s look around and see what we can
find.”
“Okay, I’ll follow you.”
“I’ve got a better idea.” Bobby put his arm around
her shoulder and Kimmy felt better.
As they walked through the dark building, the only
light they had was from their flashlights which
threw shadows on the walls making Kimmy shiver.
The shrill sound from her cell phone made her
jump because it was so loud in the deserted
building.
She took it out of her pocket and looked at the
screen.
“Who is it?” Bobby asked.
“Who do you think?”
“Your mother?”
“Yep. What should I do? You know she is going to
question me, and want to talk to your mother, and
we’re not there.”
“Pick it up anyway. Tell her we’re at the movies.”
Kimmy put her phone on speaker. “Hello.”
“Where are you?” her mother demanded.
“Hi, Mom. Bobby and I are at the movies.”
“No you’re not. I know what you’re doing and I’m
telling you it’s dangerous. You’re going to end up
hurt.”
“What’re you talking about, Mother?”
“I’m talking about where you really are. So help
me Kimmy, you’d better listen. If you continue to
do what you’re doing, you’re going to end up
hurt.”
